On a beautiful sunny afternoon at home we created a bonfire, after staring at it for a while and becoming hypnotised by the flames and movement i decided to photograph it, i find it interesting that we can read fire pictures as something beautiful, the colours and shapes created are aesthetically pleasing, and the suggestion of movement draws us in with warmth. But fire is deadly. So I wanted to look at how flames as lighting draws us in and creates beauty when it is such a destructive element.

out of the hundreds of photographs i took i think this one connotes beauty the most, the burning wood mimics a crystal or a volcanic rock. The vibrant pink fading to furious orange in contrast with the jet black creates a beautiful aesthetic quality to the image. Showing how a dangerous source of light can be read as beautiful just because of the light source.
