One name comes to mind when thinking about time in photography and photographing the unseen. Harold Edgerton was a revolutionary scientist and photographer who was concerned with how we can use photography to advance our sight.
Most people have seen his bullet & droplet images but didn’t realise they were by Edgerton.
But perhaps my favourite of his work are his portraits which explore how the body moves and works.
Edgerton used his love for science and photography to revolutionise the image forever, before the photo was thought to capture the truth, but now it was being used to capture the almost hyper-real, the unseen, the photograph was more capable then the human eye.
