I have jus thought about how I see the tension between activism and consumerism photography.
Consumerism is like the angel on your shoulder, telling yo to do what is expected of you consume the product, be like everyone else. Whereas activism photography is like the devil, daring you to be individual and confront the problem in a way that will shock others. This comparison might be important to include in my final piece, I have a lot to talk about within 10 minutes, and using metaphors like this could help be put my ideas across quickly and efficiently. This obviously needs to be developed. I cannot just state this is activism and this is consumerism. I need to go beyond that.
