I found this book online prior to Christmas and thought it would be a great resource for my symposium. I found out it was £80 so rather than buy it myself I asked the library to buy it for me and they did. Today it arrived and I am ready to delve into it.
The book was written by the ‘Japan Advertising Photographers Association’ (APA) . It’s an annual book which presents the most influential adverts from Japan over the year, which were also featured in an APA exhibition. This is the 2012 book.
I am looking at this book to find any examples of current advertising which use pop culture refernces (Kawaii and Otaku) that I can use as visual support in my Consumerism section of my symposium.
