AnimeTrakr

Like a lot of anime lovers when I come across a new anime I always make a note of it so that once I’ve finished what I’m watching I can move onto the new one – this lead to a looooooong list on my phones notes – not handy as sometimes I delete it by accident or write so many down I forget which ones which (too lazy to google them all :P).

However last night I discovered AnimeTrakr – a much needed free app that allows you to browse through each anime seasons new releases. You can then add them to any of the following lists; Planning, Watching, Completed, On Hold and most importantly Dropped.

I had hours of fun browsing through this seasons new releases and checking out some past seasons – I created a great list of anime to watch! – I recommend this app to all anime lovers who scramble on their phones to write a list of anime to watch and struggle to find release dates that aren’t for Naruto or Bleach.

Thinking about transmedia

Although my theme for my final piece is becoming more clear, how I engage with my audience and community isn’t something I’ve begun to consider, but I need to ASAP. The importance of involving people in your work is not just at the end, but through your whole project, creating a journey for them to go on with you. I wanted to brain storm the way I could do this, and then focus down my research area and come up with a serious project I can begin and evolve over the next 8 weeks.

Voting – Poll’s
Creating online discussions around the world
Making a specific brand
Video diary – allow people to see your flaws and creates a more human approach
Collaborating with other fans who either write, paint, draw, create music, photograph, make clothes etc.

I want to try and think of a project I can combine as many of these thing if not all of them. Collaborating is the one that most interests me, I would love to collaborate with a different Genre Practitioner to create a transmedia project. Once I have found people to collaborate with it would be really good to do these things together. Each to a video diary which we post to each other or record skype sessions.

I think my net move is going to be to focus my theme for the project down and then begin researching people who work in this area that inspire me so much I would love to work with them.

1 day left

There is one day left to submit your work to #PHOTOGRAPHY magazine. Issue 3 will be released in December but entries sent in after today will be considered for Issue 4.

We accept all form of photography, to see the standards please read Issue 1 or 2 . http://hashtagphotographymagazine.com/readthemag.html

We also have specific features and a competition for Issue 3.

Features:

“Photography Influenced by Art”

Art has influenced photography since its birth,
and although some people regard them as two
completely different mediums, we don’t. That’s why we
want to see your work that is influenced by art, or that
uses the techniques of a specific art movement.

“Toy Camera”

It is our belief that it doesn’t matter how much money
you have or how much your equipment cost you,
a talented photographer can produce interesting and
thought provoking images with even the cheapest of
cameras. So this is our challenge to you, using your toy
camera produce an image/aseries of images which prove
money can’t buy talent.

For anyone who isn’t sure toy cameras are simple
inexpensive film cameras, such as Holga or Lomo.

 Competition:

“Story”

We love a good narrative at #PHOTOGRAPHY, for the
issue 3 competition we want you to take a line from your
favourite book and interpret it in an image/short series of
images. Submit your finished image to us along with the
quote it was based on and we’ll choose a winner 20th
October 🙂

#phonar – Orientation

Wednesday was our introduction lesson to #phonar we had a discussion about what #phonar is and the key elements to it, connecting with others, reaching and aiming towards a specific audience and telling a story which engages the audience. The opportunities that this module can offer are amazing and the best thing is it allows us to connect to other students and practitioners around the world and discuss our work through different eyes. At the moment we are undertaking weekly tasks which will eventually lead to a final project.

P.S. spot me in the front row with the short hair 🙂
